Most flooring failures in Houston aren't the floor's fault.
They're the slab's. Houston sits on clay, and moisture moves through concrete in ways you can't see standing in the room. Put a beautiful floor over a damp slab and it cups, buckles, or delaminates. Sometimes in months, sometimes in years.
The contractor who installed it is usually long gone by then.
We test before we install. Every time.
How we work
Free on-site assessment
Every estimate visit includes a moisture risk check at no charge. A thermal sweep, a read on how your existing floor is behaving, and a look at the grading outside. Nothing gets drilled and nothing comes up. It's a risk screen, not a lab test, and we tell you straight what it does and doesn't rule out.
ASTM F2170 testing, included
Every job we install gets real in-situ probe testing to ASTM F2170, at 40% slab depth, per the standard. Not when it's indicated, and not for an extra fee. It runs after you sign and before anything is torn up, so you see the result while you can still change your mind.
Your prep number, guaranteed
Here's the part that matters. We run a straightedge over your floor before we quote it. If your slab is within ASTM F710 flatness tolerance, your prep number is locked, and if prep runs over that's on us. If it's out of tolerance you hear it on day one, with the leveling priced separately, not after your old floor is already up. Surprise prep change orders are the most common way homeowners get burned on flooring. We can guarantee against it because we measured instead of guessing.
Installed, documented, warrantied
Commercial-grade project management. If you're living in the house, room phasing and dust control are planned and priced up front. Not absorbed, not improvised.
We do tile too. Including the part most installers rush.
Tile floors, shower pans, and full wet-wall waterproofing. Same crew discipline as the flooring side.
Houston is built on Beaumont clay that swells up to 15% when it rains and shrinks when it dries. That movement is what cracks tile, and it's why so much of it fails here. The fix is movement joints, laid out to the TCNA standard, in the right places. Most residential installers skip them entirely. We lay ours out and show you the plan before we set a single tile.
On showers we build on a Schluter waterproofing system and register every install, so the membrane stays covered by the manufacturer for the life of the shower.
15 years. And it transfers when you sell.
Your installation is eligible for our 15-Year Transferable Workmanship Warranty on LVP and carpet. It covers our work: the testing, any required mitigation, the substrate prep, the adhesive, and the installation itself. If the floor fails because of what is underneath it or how it went down, we come back and fix it. We confirm the term once your slab passes its test.
Most “lifetime” flooring warranties quietly die the day you sell the house. Ours transfers once, to your buyer. If you're planning to sell inside fifteen years, that's a line in your listing.
What's covered, and for how long.
LVP and carpet over a slab we tested. Transferable once, to your buyer.
Tiled shower waterproofing.
Tile floor workmanship.
What qualifies a floor for the 15 years: the slab has to test within the industry standard for the material going down. Every product has its own limit and they are not the same. Engineered wood is tighter than vinyl, which is tighter than carpet. Test inside the standard and you're covered. Test above it and we bring the slab into spec first, with mitigation, a different adhesive, a vapor retarder, or a floating install. Once it's in spec, the 15 years applies exactly the same. Epoxy and engineered wood carry their own two-year terms, for the same reason tile does: each one has a failure mode we do not control.
There's a path for every slab we've tested. Some need a moisture barrier, some a different adhesive, some just a product rated for the reading we got. We lay out the options with a number against each one, and you choose. Finding the fix is our job, not yours.
Tile sits on a different clock for one honest reason: we didn't pour your foundation. Slab movement is what cracks tile, and nobody can warranty against that. What we control is the assembly, and the two years covers exactly that.
Material defects are the manufacturer's warranty in every case. Scratches, wear, and finish problems belong to the product. We keep your material documentation on file, so if you ever need to make that claim we can tell you exactly who covers it.
You can supply your own flooring and we will install it. That installation carries a one-year workmanship warranty rather than the fifteen. We cannot see how a floor was stored before it reached us, and one that sat in a hot garage fails in ways that look like installation. Material defects stay with the manufacturer either way.
If your slab needs work to come into spec, you see the scope and the number before anything is ordered and before your old floor comes up. That's the reason we test before demo instead of after.
We're built for whole-home work.
Whole-home and multi-room projects are where moisture testing and proper prep change the outcome. That's what our process is built around.
Our crews come off commercial jobsites. We schedule around real timelines and tell you what they are before you commit, not after.
If we're not the right fit for your project, we'll say so and point you to someone who is. That's not a brush-off. It's a real referral to an installer we'd use ourselves.
