Design Construct Flooring completed an 8,000 square foot commercial flooring renovation at the W.R. Banks Building, part of Texas Southern University (TSU) in Houston, Texas. The project supported the Child Development Laboratory and included the installation of carpet tile, luxury vinyl plank (LVP), and ceramic tile flooring across classrooms, corridors, offices, and shared learning spaces. The renovation required precise coordination with campus operations to ensure minimal disruption to ongoing university programs. DC Flooring’s installation team managed logistics, material handling, and safety compliance within a fully active campus environment, completing work within the university’s construction schedule. Each flooring system was selected for both performance and aesthetics. Carpet tile was installed in office and classroom areas to improve acoustic comfort and visual warmth. Luxury vinyl plank was chosen for multipurpose rooms and corridors due to its durability and ease of maintenance, while porcelain and ceramic tile were used in labs and restrooms for moisture resistance and longevity. Together, these materials created a cohesive design that balanced functionality with modern appeal. The completed installation provided Texas Southern University with a long-lasting, low-maintenance flooring system tailored to the needs of an education facility. This project demonstrates Design Construct Flooring’s ability to deliver large-scale institutional flooring installations with precision, efficiency, and attention to detail—reinforcing our reputation as a trusted partner for academic and public projects across Texas.
