Design Construct Flooring completed a 2,500 square foot healthcare flooring installation at MD Anderson Cancer Center’s G7 Shell renovation in Houston, Texas. The project involved the installation of commercial-grade carpet tile throughout patient care and administrative areas, designed to meet the hospital’s high-performance standards for safety, hygiene, and comfort. Our team worked closely with the general contractor and hospital facilities department to coordinate installation around sensitive medical equipment and occupied zones. Careful attention was given to substrate preparation, ensuring the concrete slab was tested and compliant with ASTM F710 and F2170 standards for moisture and surface conditions prior to adhesive application. The selected carpet tile system offered superior durability, stain resistance, and acoustic benefits—ideal for healthcare environments requiring both aesthetic appeal and long-term performance. Design Construct Flooring utilized premium adhesives and low-VOC materials to support MD Anderson’s ongoing sustainability and indoor air quality initiatives. Installation was executed efficiently within the project timeline, including cove base finishing and detailed transitions at corridor intersections and doorways. The end result provided a clean, modern, and functional flooring solution that enhances both the look and usability of the renovated space. This project highlights DC Flooring’s experience in healthcare flooring installation, where precision, cleanliness, and coordination are essential to maintaining the operational standards of Houston’s leading medical facilities.
